True Strength: How to Ask for Help (The RxD Personal Training Way)
Letās be real for a minute.
For a long time, I wore independence like a badge of honor. I didnāt ask for help. I didnāt want to be a āburden.ā Iād show up for everyone else but never give myself permission to lean on others.
Sound familiar?
At RxD, we meet a lot of strong, self-sufficient people like that ā people who show up for work, their families, and their community, but when it comes to their health, they try to muscle through it alone.
Hereās the truth: trying to figure everything out on your own isn’t strength ā itās self-sabotage.
Weāre a Personal Training facility – A Coaching facility. . .Coaching means you donāt have to do this alone. And more importantly: you shouldnāt.
Needing Support Doesnāt Make You Weak. It Makes You Smart.
Even elite athletes have teams. Even CEOs have coaches.
Why? Because real strength is in knowing what you need and being bold enough to ask for it.
When someone walks into RxD and says, āI donāt know where to start,ā or āIām overwhelmed,ā that doesnāt make them a weak client. That makes them a coachable one.
That makes them ready for change. True strength comes from this awareness that we all need a coach. We can’t possibly do everything on our own and that’s okay.
Asking for Help Is a Superpower
We see it every day.
Someone walks through our doors completely unsure of how to lift, how to eat, or even how to prioritize themselves. They come in with doubts and leave with a plan.
Why? Because they asked.
Weāve had clients pull us aside mid-session and say, āHey, Iām not sure Iām doing this right.ā And instead of getting judged, they get coached. Encouraged. Corrected. Thatās what weāre here for.
Whether itās nutrition, mobility, mindset, or macros ā if you donāt know something, donāt Google your way into frustration. Ask.
Your RxD Coaches are literally built for this. Itās why we exist.
Drop the āI Owe You Oneā Mentality
One more thing before we wrapā¦
We know how hard it can be to receive support. Sometimes, our instinct is to say āThanks ā I owe you!ā or āI hate to bother you.ā
But hereās a mindset reframe:
Support isnāt a transaction. Itās a connection.
Weāre not keeping score. We help because weāre in this with you. Because your goals matter. Because communities with the most strength donāt count favors ā they show up, again and again, until you believe youāre worth showing up for too.
So next time you want to say, āThanks, I owe you one,ā try this instead:
āThanks. Iāll pay it forward.ā
Letās Put This into Practice:
Ask yourself this:
-
Where in your life have you been trying to go it alone?
-
Whatās one thing you could ask for help with today?
-
Can you reach out ā no apologies, no guilt ā just the courage to say āI need a handā?
If Aragorn can do it, so can you. And if the guy in the gym can walk up and ask how to deadlift⦠you can text your RxD Coach and say, āHey, I need help dialing in my nutrition,ā or āIām stuck. Can we review my workouts?ā
Thatās what strong people do.
So go ahead. Reach out. Show strength.
Weāve got you.
