Should You Diet on Thanksgiving?

After 364 days of pondering, researching, and soul-searching…
After combing through every study, macro calculator, and turkey brine recipe…
After asking the age-old question…

“Should you diet on Thanksgiving?”

I’m here to deliver the final verdict, the gospel truth, the mic-drop moment.

āŒ NO.

šŸ™…ā€ā™‚ļø Absolutely not.

🦃 And don’t you dare try to log that stuffing.

But what about my goals?!

Let me ask you this:

Are your gains really going to disappear because you had one day of mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a suspicious amount of pie?

Nope.

You won’t undo your progress.
You won’t ruin your metabolism.
You will however ruin the mood if you bring Tupperware of steamed broccoli to the table like a holiday hostage.

Thanksgiving Isn’t a Cheat Day.

It’s a Life Day.

It’s about connection, not calorie counting.
It’s about gratitude, not grams of fat.
It’s about grandma’s sweet potato casserole, even if she puts literal marshmallows on it. (God bless her.)

Real Talk From Your RXD Coach:

If you’re doing it right the other 364 days a year, one day of food joy won’t derail anything. In fact, stressing over it will do more damage than the extra slice of pie ever could.

So here’s your official RXD prescription:

  1. Eat the food.

  2. Enjoy your people.

  3. Unbutton the pants. (You know it’s happening anyway.)

  4. Skip the guilt.

You’re not lazy.
You’re not ā€œstarting over Monday.ā€
You’re just living.

Final Thought:

We train all year to have days like this — strong body, strong mindset, and the freedom to say,

ā€œYes, I will have seconds.ā€

So go ahead. Have the turkey. Have the pie. Have the nap.
The only thing you should be cutting on Thanksgiving…

…is the pie.
