True Strength: How to Ask for Help (The RxD Personal Training Way)
Letโs be real for a minute.
For a long time, I wore independence like a badge of honor. I didnโt ask for help. I didnโt want to be a โburden.โ Iโd show up for everyone else but never give myself permission to lean on others.
Sound familiar?
At RxD, we meet a lot of strong, self-sufficient people like that โ people who show up for work, their families, and their community, but when it comes to their health, they try to muscle through it alone.
Hereโs the truth: trying to figure everything out on your own isn’t strength โ itโs self-sabotage.
Weโre a Personal Training facility – A Coaching facility. . .Coaching means you donโt have to do this alone. And more importantly: you shouldnโt.
Needing Support Doesnโt Make You Weak. It Makes You Smart.
Even elite athletes have teams. Even CEOs have coaches.
Why? Because real strength is in knowing what you need and being bold enough to ask for it.
When someone walks into RxD and says, โI donโt know where to start,โ or โIโm overwhelmed,โ that doesnโt make them a weak client. That makes them a coachable one.
That makes them ready for change. True strength comes from this awareness that we all need a coach. We can’t possibly do everything on our own and that’s okay.
Asking for Help Is a Superpower
We see it every day.
Someone walks through our doors completely unsure of how to lift, how to eat, or even how to prioritize themselves. They come in with doubts and leave with a plan.
Why? Because they asked.
Weโve had clients pull us aside mid-session and say, โHey, Iโm not sure Iโm doing this right.โ And instead of getting judged, they get coached. Encouraged. Corrected. Thatโs what weโre here for.
Whether itโs nutrition, mobility, mindset, or macros โ if you donโt know something, donโt Google your way into frustration. Ask.
Your RxD Coaches are literally built for this. Itโs why we exist.
Drop the โI Owe You Oneโ Mentality
One more thing before we wrapโฆ
We know how hard it can be to receive support. Sometimes, our instinct is to say โThanks โ I owe you!โ or โI hate to bother you.โ
But hereโs a mindset reframe:
Support isnโt a transaction. Itโs a connection.
Weโre not keeping score. We help because weโre in this with you. Because your goals matter. Because communities with the most strength donโt count favors โ they show up, again and again, until you believe youโre worth showing up for too.
So next time you want to say, โThanks, I owe you one,โ try this instead:
โThanks. Iโll pay it forward.โ
Letโs Put This into Practice:
Ask yourself this:
-
Where in your life have you been trying to go it alone?
-
Whatโs one thing you could ask for help with today?
-
Can you reach out โ no apologies, no guilt โ just the courage to say โI need a handโ?
If Aragorn can do it, so can you. And if the guy in the gym can walk up and ask how to deadliftโฆ you can text your RxD Coach and say, โHey, I need help dialing in my nutrition,โ or โIโm stuck. Can we review my workouts?โ
Thatโs what strong people do.
So go ahead. Reach out. Show strength.
Weโve got you.
