True Strength: How to Ask for Help (The RxD Personal Training Way)
Letβs be real for a minute.
For a long time, I wore independence like a badge of honor. I didnβt ask for help. I didnβt want to be a βburden.β Iβd show up for everyone else but never give myself permission to lean on others.
Sound familiar?
At RxD, we meet a lot of strong, self-sufficient people like that β people who show up for work, their families, and their community, but when it comes to their health, they try to muscle through it alone.
Hereβs the truth: trying to figure everything out on your own isn’t strength β itβs self-sabotage.
Weβre a Personal Training facility – A Coaching facility. . .Coaching means you donβt have to do this alone. And more importantly: you shouldnβt.
Needing Support Doesnβt Make You Weak. It Makes You Smart.
Even elite athletes have teams. Even CEOs have coaches.
Why? Because real strength is in knowing what you need and being bold enough to ask for it.
When someone walks into RxD and says, βI donβt know where to start,β or βIβm overwhelmed,β that doesnβt make them a weak client. That makes them a coachable one.
That makes them ready for change. True strength comes from this awareness that we all need a coach. We can’t possibly do everything on our own and that’s okay.
Asking for Help Is a Superpower
We see it every day.
Someone walks through our doors completely unsure of how to lift, how to eat, or even how to prioritize themselves. They come in with doubts and leave with a plan.
Why? Because they asked.
Weβve had clients pull us aside mid-session and say, βHey, Iβm not sure Iβm doing this right.β And instead of getting judged, they get coached. Encouraged. Corrected. Thatβs what weβre here for.
Whether itβs nutrition, mobility, mindset, or macros β if you donβt know something, donβt Google your way into frustration. Ask.
Your RxD Coaches are literally built for this. Itβs why we exist.
Drop the βI Owe You Oneβ Mentality
One more thing before we wrapβ¦
We know how hard it can be to receive support. Sometimes, our instinct is to say βThanks β I owe you!β or βI hate to bother you.β
But hereβs a mindset reframe:
Support isnβt a transaction. Itβs a connection.
Weβre not keeping score. We help because weβre in this with you. Because your goals matter. Because communities with the most strength donβt count favors β they show up, again and again, until you believe youβre worth showing up for too.
So next time you want to say, βThanks, I owe you one,β try this instead:
βThanks. Iβll pay it forward.β
Letβs Put This into Practice:
Ask yourself this:
-
Where in your life have you been trying to go it alone?
-
Whatβs one thing you could ask for help with today?
-
Can you reach out β no apologies, no guilt β just the courage to say βI need a handβ?
If Aragorn can do it, so can you. And if the guy in the gym can walk up and ask how to deadliftβ¦ you can text your RxD Coach and say, βHey, I need help dialing in my nutrition,β or βIβm stuck. Can we review my workouts?β
Thatβs what strong people do.
So go ahead. Reach out. Show strength.
Weβve got you.
